On April 11, 2024, the Fulton County Library System issued a payment of $1,609,508.49, recognizing the contributions of its volunteers. This amount corresponds to 16,207 volunteer hours from a total of 1,922 library volunteers.

In a related announcement, the Board of Commissioners of Fulton County has proclaimed October 16, 2024, as “Fulton County Library System Friends of the Libraries Appreciation Day.” This day is set aside to honor the dedicated individuals who support the library system through their volunteer work, emphasizing their important role in improving community access to resources and knowledge.
