Police investigate Bend brush fire likely set by fireworks
Bend, Ore. — A quarter-acre brush fire along the Bend Parkway, south of Reed Market Road, was reported just after 2 p.m. today, Bend Fire & Rescue said. Firefighters responded and quickly put out the fire. There were no structures threatened, and the Parkway was narrowed to one northbound lane during extinguishment.
The City of Bend Police Department is investigating the fire's cause, which appears to have been intentionally set using fireworks. Anyone with information about the cause is asked to contact Bend Police at 541-693-6911.
